Cookie Smiles Launches the Shining Star Program to Aid with Employment and Career Opportunities
In our latest community outreach, we have launched the Shining Star Initiative.
Partnering with Complete Deelite and the Shine Skills Centre, a member institute of the VTC Group that provides skill-based training programs for students with disabilities, we endeavour to jointly educate, empower, and build employment opportunities with hotels in Hong Kong. So far, 20 students from the ShineSkills Centre have been placed in internship positions at various 5-star hotels in Hong Kong.
The Trial Work Placement Scheme aims to foster passionate young talents in the food and beverage (F&B) sector with adept skills and real-time workplace experience, essentially enabling and better equipping them for future career and employment opportunities. The program is set to take in students from select courses offered by the Shine Skills Centre, subsequently finding them internship placements within various departments of hotels.

Through our partnership with Complete Deelite, we were able to take in 3 interns and retained 2 graduates under full / part time employment, with full income being sponsored by Complete Deelite.

This is a continuing initiative, and we are committed to our mission to create and offer training opportunities for the disadvantaged groups, alongside our passion for the ultimate comfort food – cookies!
Funds are also being raised to upgrade these students in their physical well-being and presentation for higher positions and obtaining gainful employment.
